Machrie Moor is the site of a prehistoric ritual landscape dating from the Neolithic and Bronze Ages and includes several stone circles and chambered cairns.
Machrie Moor 6 is an asymmetric structure measuring 42 by 48 feet. It consists of ten small stones, the tallest of which is just short of four feet tall. Like Machrie Moor 1, it was preceded by a ring of timber posts.
This stone circle has also been numbered variously as 11, 1a, and by the number designated here: 6.

Machrie Moor Stone Circle 6 is located at the end of a 1-1/2 mile track that is off of the A841 (some 200 yards south of the bridge where the main road crosses the Machrie Water) and three miles north of Blackwaterfoot in the western part of the Isle of Arran in North Ayrshire, Scotland.
