Located today among the warehouses of the Hatston Industrial Estates, the Iron Age Grain Earth-House, known as a souterrain in other locales, is completely underground.
Entrance is by a set of stone steps leading to an underground passage and chamber, which is nearly five feet high. Indications are that it was part of a domestic settlement on the site.
