Dating from the Neolithic Period (4000-2500 B.C., the Creevykeel Court Tomb was originally about 200 feet long. A 15 foot long and three foot wide passage gives access to an oval-shaped court. Its enclosed court makes Creevykeel a so-called full-court tomb.

Apart from a two-chambered gallery, the cairn accommodates three chambers. The entrance to the gallery has a lintel supported by two jamb stones. The entrances to the chambers are corridors.
