The Cloghanmore Court Cairn tomb is oriented east to west, with the main entrance located on the eastern end. It is a large tomb with parallel twin galleries to either side of the entrance. There are two western galleries each divided into two chambers. One of the two western galleries is topped with a large capstone. Its total length is over 130 feet including an oval court 45 feet long.

Some of the stones in the court are decorated with engravings, which are said to be from the Iron Age, but are very faint and difficult to find.
